Daily Itinerary

INTO THE LAND OF HAPPINESS
Touch down in Paro and let the pace of Bhutan ease you in. The drive to Thimphu winds through pine-scented forests, rivers that glide like prayer, and fluttering flags that whisper blessings.
By evening, you arrive at your resort where stillness doesn’t mean silence, but a kind of peace that sits deep in your chest.
Overnight in Thimphu.

MONASTERIES, MEDITATION & MOUNTAIN RIDES
Start your morning beneath the watchful gaze of Buddha Dordenma, serene and towering above the valley. At the Memorial Chorten, join locals in their quiet meditative ritual of walking circles in prayer.
Later, hike to the secluded Tango Cheri Monastery, wrapped in pine and whispers. Then, coast downhill by cycle back into the city, free and flying.
As twilight falls, wander the markets where every fabric and spice carries a piece of someone’s story.
Overnight in Thimphu.

PUNAKHA – RIVERS & HISTORIC FORTRESSES
Take the road to Punakha, pausing at Dochu-La Pass where clouds and chortens share space with snow peaks. Choose to paddle through the icy thrill of the Mo or Po Chhu rivers, or simply float in their calm.
By afternoon, step into the majesty of Punakha Dzong its white walls and wooden bridges rising from the river. Walk to Chimi Lhakhang, a temple of laughter, love, and strange legends. Let the day end at a hilltop nunnery, where quiet prayers drift with the breeze.
Overnight in Punakha.

TRANQUILITY IN PHOBJIKHA VALLEY
Drive into Phobjikha, where the world suddenly feels wider. The valley opens up, unhurried and undisturbed. Visit the Gangtey Monastery, and take the Gangtey Nature Trail through wetlands where cranes once danced and the wind carries mountain hymns.
The evening is for warm blankets and misty windows. Nothing to do, nowhere to be.
Overnight in Phobjikha.

SCENIC DRIVE TO BUMTHANG
The road to Bumthang is long but layered with every curve revealing more of Bhutan’s beating heart. Stop at Trongsa Dzong, a fortress that once controlled trade and kings.
In Zhungney, learn how threads of yak wool turn into stories called Yathra. By afternoon, taste local cheese and sip a dark Red Panda beer, brewed with monastic patience.
Overnight in Bumthang.

BUMTHANG & URA VALLEY EXPLORATION
Begin your day among sacred spaces Tamshing Lhakhang and Kurje Lhakhang where centuries of devotion hang in the air. Then head toward Ura Valley, where slate-roofed houses huddle against the wind and villagers still live by the seasons.
On your return, pause at Mebar Tsho the Burning Lake where legends flicker just beneath the surface.
Overnight in Bumthang.

FLIGHT TO PARO & HISTORICAL DISCOVERIES
Take a scenic flight back to Paro, tracing mountains that now feel like old friends. In town, explore the National Museum perched on a cliff, and walk the halls of Paro Dzong, where silence is sacred.
Later, taste Bhutan’s modern spirit at Namgay Brewery where craft beers carry the character of this quiet kingdom.
Overnight in Paro.

THE HIKE TO TIGER’S NEST
Begin early for the journey of a lifetime a trek to the Tiger’s Nest Monastery. It clings impossibly to a cliff, as if held there by faith alone.
The trail is steep, the air thin, but every step brings you closer to something ancient and unseen. After the descent, soak your tired legs in a hot stone bath and laugh with locals over a friendly archery match where joy always trumps skill.
Overnight in Paro.

FAREWELL, BUT NEVER GOODBYE
One last breakfast in the valley. One last prayer flag flutter. And then the road winds out of Paro. But Bhutan stays tucked inside, in a place that doesn’t need explaining.
Trip ends, but the journey stays within.
